When the Dodgers left Brooklyn baseball became a forbidden sport in my house.    My Grandmother, a dedicated Dodgers fan, lived with us and refused to watch or listen to it.  She had been betrayed.      Then I met Charlie, my future husband and an avid Mets fan.   Most important, Gram liked him.   Charlie took me to my first Mets game and the whole family watced to see if they could see us on TV.   As luck would have it, it was May of 1969.   It couldn't have been a more exciting year to start watching.  The whole family became hooked on the Mets and has been ever since.
